Program Highlights:
As a “housing laboratory”, the Hong Kong Housing Society (“HKHS”) has been dedicating resources to preparing for our ageing population. We have been piloting various affordable and quality elderly housing projects to meet the changing needs of our people, promoting the concepts of “ageing in place” and “intergenerational living”. As an attempt to demonstrate accessibility and adaptability in the unit designs of our Public Rental Housing (PRH), Subsidised Sale Flats (SSF) and Senior Citizen Residences Scheme (SEN), the HKHS has recently set up three mock-up flat prototypes for exploration and examination purposes. The enhanced sustainability, liveability, manoeuvrability and space planning in the flats’ design will allow people of different abilities to age in place, thus delaying their needs to move into Residential Care Home for the Elderly. You may wish to refer to the enclosed information pack for more details on the prototypes.
