Authorised signatories (AS) now face unprecedented exposure to criminal, civil, and disciplinary proceedings in Hong Kong’s construction sector.
Under section 9 (5) and (6) of the Building Ordinance (BO), a registered general building contractor (RGBC) or a registered specialist contractor(RSC) should provide continuous supervision to the carrying out of the building works or street works, to comply with the BO generally.
AS as a statutory role in the company , providing specialist business support and encountered evolving legal risk at the same time.
