What is Matrix Scaffold? The Evolution of Bamboo Scaffold to Matrix Scaffold

18 March 2026

Compared with traditional bamboo scaffold, matrix scaffold is an upgraded system in the Hong Kong construction industry. By using high-strength materials such as steel pipes to replace bamboo as the main structural poles, matrix scaffold can withstand higher wind pressures during typhoons, thereby enhancing the overall performance of the scaffold system.

In this seminar, the speakers, who are engineering professionals, will highlight the advancements of matrix scaffold over traditional bamboo scaffold, with the aim of fostering a safer working environment on construction sites.
