  • promoting the development and use of mediation and other forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)
  • encouraging collaboration amongst its members and with similar institutions or professional bodies
  • facilitating exchange of information and ideas in relation to mediation and other forms of ADR
  • training mediators and educating users of mediation

The HKMC Construction Mediation Division (“CMD”) is one of the sector-specific groups of HKMC concentrating its mediation activities in construction industry and areas relating to work contracts. The CMD is formed by a group of professionals and experienced mediators, and is providing voluntary mediation seminars to the government, professional firms, and tertiary institutions to introduce and to spread a culture of using mediation to resolve disputes amicably among parties, as an alternative to litigation.

The presentation will comprise a seminar explaining the mediation process and its benefits in resolving disputes, and a role play based on a real construction dispute.
