This Seminar will discuss practical questions regarding the recently enacted Construction Industry Security of Payment Ordinance Cap. 652 (“SOPO”), which came into effect as from Thursday 28 August 2025. The aim of SOPO is to streamline payment processes as well as provide clear remedies to resolve payment disputes efficiently.
The Seminar will begin with a concise introduction to the key objectives and framework of SOPO. The core emphasis will be on addressing practical questions that arise in real-world application.
Attendees will gain insight into how the new SOPO will affect contractual relationships, risk allocation, and cash flow management, and will benefit from discussions of common challenges and best practices, enabling industry stakeholders to better navigate the new legislative landscape with confidence.
