The Wait is Over: The Construction Industry Security of Payment Ordinance has arrived

Following the passage of the Bill at the Legislative Council on 18 December 2024, the Construction Industry Security of Payment Ordinance (Ordinance”) has been gazetted on 27 December 2024.   The majority of the provisions will come into operation 8 months later on 28 August 2025.

The Ordinance will bring a drastic change to the construction industry in Hong Kong, particularly concerning cashflow cycles and dispute resolution process under the contracts.

In this seminar, we will analyze the major provisions of the Ordinance and provide practical tips on how to prepare for its arrival and implications.
