Expert plays a crucial role in adjudication within Hong Kong’s construction industry, particularly in analysing construction disputes. Under the Security of Payment (SOP) provisions, experts in general can provide independent opinions and help adjudicators in making fair decisions. Their expertise allows for realistic forecast, facilitating timely assessments of Contractor’s claims and reducing unnecessary disputes.
By engaging programming experts, parties can proactively address issues rather than deferring assessments until project completion, which often leads to higher costs. Amanda will share her views as an expert on issues related to engagement of an expert, the procedures, the benefits and limitation in the Adjudication proceedings.
