The Development Bureau promulgated the Technical Circular (Works) no. 3/2023 on 27 February 2023 regarding the implementation of Smart Site Safety System (4S) in public works contracts with estimated contract sum exceeding $30 million. In addition, Development Bureau has established the Construction Innovation and Technology Fund (CITF) to encourage wider adoption of innovative construction methods and new technologies in the construction industry.
In order to enhance the adoption of use of new technology to improve site safety and reduce site accidents, we invited two participated applicators (under approved 4S products in the funding of CITF) to share their system and practical experience to our members.

Speaker(s): | Mr. Issac LEUNG, M. Phil Issac is a Co-Founder of his own Company, AutoSafe, who focuses on revolutionize construction safety with technologies. He holds an MPhil in Civil Engineering from HKUST. Although he had been trained as a Civil Engineer, he has been researching AI for the construction industry throughout his research time. This makes him a perfect bridge between actual pain points in the industry and different innovation solutions. He founded AutoSafe with Professor Jack CHENG and his team from HKUST and other experts from world- renowned institutes in 2021. In just two years, the local startup has now acquired patents on AI-based safety monitoring and multi-camera tracking technologies. He and his team have also been working on various actual projects related to smart site, and to be particular, the Smart Site Safety System (SSSS), stated in the technical circular issued by the Development Bureau.
