Site Visit to Commercial Development Project on 50 Queen’s Road East (Six Pacific Place)

Programme Highlight

6PP is a 24-storey Grade-A office building with a total area of around 218,000 sq. ft. The challenges include a congested area located in a busy district, requiring early TTM/XP early planning. Additionally, there is the impact of COVID-19, which necessitates barging transportation for steel stanchions and system formwork. Furthermore, there are complex temporary works on the main roof that require BIM adoption for site planning and method statement development.

 

During this site visit, the speaker will share his experience in various aspects including:

 

  1. Safety – Safety culture promotion, development and maintenance

 

  1. Sustainability – 100% Low carbon concrete, 60% Low carbon rebar (Final 80%), Zero Generator (i.e. Early grid power 800 Amp), Rebar waste and temp facilities reuse sharing

 

  1. Quality – Concrete grade demarcation BIM model, Quality lesson learnt sharing

 

  1. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) – Good mood promotion

 

  1. Innovation (Site) – Rebar cap with cable hook, Mobile Sub-contractor shed, CO2 sensor to control exhaust fan operation, wireless water spray device (Dust control)

 

  1. Innovation (Technology) – BIM full implementation, AI CAM, 5G network, VR training, BIM/ VR adoption, CAVE, Smart Helmet, Smart Watch

 

  1. Innovation (Robotic): RISE – Lift shaft drilling and fixing anchor bolts, Jabot – Ceiling soffit drilling with vacuum cleaner, Square Dog – Curtain wall water test

 

  1. DfMA: Chiller pipes, Cooling tower pipes, Office ceiling trunking, Hoarding

 

This visit is suitable for participants who would like to advance their project management skills and knowledge.

Alex is a Senior Project Manager with 26 years of experience in building projects include PSK226 Solaria, TW5, White Sand, Ko Shan Theatre, HKL Serenade, Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Landmark Phase 5, Three Pacific Place, Chater House, Lam Tin Phase 5 and Super Terminal 1. He successfully leads the 6PP project and has obtained several awards.

 

Alex possesses extensive knowledge in site planning, logistics, construction management, health and safety protocols, environmental management, quality control, innovation, and digitalization applications. His expertise in these areas enables him to effectively coordinate and oversee construction projects, ensuring their successful completion.
