Thomas graduated with the Bachelor of Arts (Architectural Studies) – 1st Hon. and the Master of Architecture from The University of Hong Kong. He is a Fellow of HKIA, HK Registered Architect, HK Authorized Person–Architect, APEC Architect and obtained the PRC Class 1 Registered Architect Qualification in 2006. After teaching in the HK Chu Hai College as the Head of the Department of Architecture, Thomas started his own architectural office in 2004 as the Director of Cheung Kong-yeung Architects Limited (CKAL) and actively practicing in the profession.
On his participation to professional services, he is the Vice President of HKIA in 2021-2022, Council Member of HKIA in 2019-24, Member of the HK Architect’s Registration Board in 2020-2024, Director of the HK BEAM Society Limited in 2019-2023, Director of the HK Coalition of Professional Services (HKCPS) in 2021-2022, Deputy Chair & Member of the Authorized Persons Registration Committee in 2020-2021 and the Member of the Advisory Committee on the Appearance of Bridges and Associated Structures (ACABAS) in 2020-2022.
Internationally, Thomas is also the Deputy Chairman (2020-2021) & the Chairman (2022 – 2023) of the ARCASIA Committee on Social Responsibility (ACSR) in ARCASIA which is composed of the architectural institutes of 22 nos. of countries / cities in the Asia Pacific Region. |
