Brief details of the talk
The Development Bureau promulgated the Technical Circular (Works) no. 6/2021 on 5 October 2021 regarding the implementation of Security of Payment Provisions (SOP Provisions) in public works contracts. The legislation of Security of Payment is also in progress. It aims to facilitate timely processing of payments and to allow a speedy resolution of payment related disputes in construction projects.
SOP calls for a change in the construction contract management and is likely to affect most of the partitioners in the local construction industry. In this sharing, Sr Eric Ting is going to share his view on how to make use of this change to strengthen the construction contract management and how to handle payment disputes under the SOP Provisions.
