Brief content of the Talk:
In the talk, the speaker will share his experience on ELS and Piling works including:-
- Briefing on different types of ELS and piling commonly used in Hong Kong,
- Introducing the structural elements of each types of ELS and piling,
- Associated constructional plants and equipment to be deployed for each types of ELS and piling,
- Challenges and safety measures to be encountered during construction, and
- Case Study : A typical sample of completed project for Site Formation, Socket H-Pile Foundation and ELS Works at location of Peak Road region, which comprised pipe piles with steel lagging and tie-back nails, grout curtain & pumping test, sheet piles, waling & struts for the ELS system (the excavation depth is about 11m) and socket H-piles for the foundation, and also soldier piles for site formation of retaining wall. A common right of way (one-way width) being shared with adjacent lots of residence is the main construction access for in/out of the site from the Peak Road.
