Throughout the entire process of engineering project implementation, risks are ubiquitous. Therefore, project risk management is an important management module in project engineering management, and engineering insurance is a major way of risk transfer and also is the most commonly used tool in project risk management.
NEC, as the internationally recognized engineering contract type, has detailed provisions on insurance in the contract conditions. This presentation focuses on the NEC ECC Contract Clause on insurance, and combines with the general practices of insurance in international engineering project to explain the application of some core principles. It also proposes issues that should be paid attention to when applying them in conjunction with large-scale projects.

Mark has been engaged in the risk management and insurance industry in the Greater China region for more than 20 years. He has worked in various senior management position in insurance companies and insurance consultancy firms. He is familiar with the insurance market and regulations in the Greater China Region.
Mark is an adjunct professor at Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics. He also served as a lecturer at Taipei University of Science and Technology in Taiwan, teaching engineering risk management and insurance courses.
Mark is also a Chartered Surveyor, Fellow of Australian and New Zealand Insurance and Finance Institute (ANZIIF(Fellow)) and Associate Editor of the Proceedings of Civil Engineering – Forensic Engineering (ICEFE) |
