What is Construction Managers & HKICM? (Series 1: PolyU SPEED)

The Young Members Committee (YMC) of the Hong Kong Institute of Construction Managers (HKICM) was honored to be invited to the PolyU SPEED to share insights about the role of Construction Managers & promoting HKICM to the students on 12 March 2025.

In the sharing section, the Yong Members Committee was invited to share job experience in performing a Construction Manager in sorts of organisation. Speakers include: Cr Sam HUNG (Chairman of HKICM Young Members Committee), Cr Mandy CHAN (Deputy Chairperson of HKICM Young Members Committee) and Cr TSUI Chun-tim, Mr SO Wai-lun, Mr MAK Tsz-ho and Ms LIU Wa-wai (Members & helper of HKICM Young Members Committee). Special thanks to Cr LI Tak-hong, Dick, the Vice President for the efforts in supporting this event.

Approximately 60 PolyU SPEED students from both full-time & part-time degree students of Facilities Management participated in the event. The speakers provided invaluable perspectives on future career development opportunities for students in pursuing a professional recognition as Construction Managers. Additionally, a brief introduction to HKICM was presented, enhancing students’ understanding the path for professional development and the membership grade.

Following Cr LI Tak-hong, Dick interacted with students for the discussion section and closed by encouraging students in proceeding with their career development as well as professional recognition.

  2. The talk will be conducted online via Zoom. Successful registrants will be notified separately via email with the meeting ID in due course to the online event .
