Technical Visit to Fanling North New Development Area

25 October 2025

HKICM organised the CPD Technical Visit to Fanling North New Development Area and held successfully on 25 October 2025.

Peggie P.K HON, Project Manager, DCK JV (Daewoo – Chun Wo – Kwan Lee Joint Venture) shared with the participants the professional knowledge and experience including the construction of a footbridge across Ng Tung River and a cycle track cum footbridge over Lung Yeuk Tau Interchange. The sharing involved a groundbreaking application of ultra-high strength S960 steel in engineering and construction in the aspect of design, fabrication, construction, safety and quality assurance. Attendees gained insights into the challenges and measures to overcome the difficulties from the planning to construction stages. Additionally, the benefits of using S960 steel, such as reduced weight and fewer piles, which contribute to enhancing lifting safety and improved project efficiency, followed by a Q&A session.

The CPD was highly informative and meaningful with exchange and interaction among the speakers and the participants.

Special thanks to Cr Betty LO (Chairperson of HKICM CPD Committee), Cr Mandy CHAN (Deputy Chairperson of HKICM Young Members Committee) for the great efforts in organising and joining this CPD event.

Finally, a certificate of appreciation was presented to Peggie P.K HON for the excellent sharing and presentation.
