We are pleased to share insights from our site visit to the Kwu Tung North Project on 21 March 2026, organised by our Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Committee.
The project comprises six 25-storey residential towers providing 2,064 residential units, supported by a three-storey podium and an integrated Public Transport Interchange (PTI). The development demonstrates a strong commitment to safety, health and environmental sustainability.
Despite significant challenges arising from geological constraints and a tight programme, the project team has shown excellent construction management and planning. This includes the adoption of a semi top-down construction method, enhanced details of the ELS system, and early stakeholder engagement to facilitate the timely handover of the PTI.
In terms of site safety, beyond the implementation of the Smart Site Safety System (4S), the team showcased several innovative technologies, including smart hooks for tower cranes and AI enabled ties for monitoring scaffolding stability. Given that fire safety remains a key concern in the construction industry, the team also shared their comprehensive fire protection strategy, highlighting in particular the external scaffolding misting system, which effectively reduces fire risk.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to Mr. Teddy Lo and Mr. Wallace Lam of Teamfield Building Contractors Limited (A Member of Sun Hung Kai Properties), and their team, for thoughtfully arranging this visit. The visit reinforced the importance of prioritizing safety and health in construction and set a commendable benchmark for future projects.
