We are pleased to share insights from our visit to the Kai Tak Area 2B1 Project on May 10, 2025, organized by our Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) Committee. This project features two 40-storey residential buildings with 1,800 subsidized flat units and a 2-storey retail belt, demonstrating a strong commitment to safety, health, and environmental sustainability.
During our visit, we observed the implementation of the Smart Site Safety System (4S), which includes additional value-added features that enhance safety measures on-site. A special highlight is the MiC site office, which is designed with a focus on high standards of worker welfare, incorporating leisure facilities that promote well-being and help reduce stress-related safety risks. Furthermore, the project employs innovative MiMEP techniques in the Lift Machine Room, which improve operational efficiency while minimizing hazards.
We would like to thank Cr Jason Wong from Gammon Construction Limited and his team for tailoring this visit for us. This visit underscored the importance of prioritizing safety and health in construction, setting a commendable benchmark for future projects.
