Practical Questions regarding the new Construction Industry Security of Payment Ordinance (Cap. 652)

HKICM organised the CPD Talk Practical Questions regarding the new Construction Industry Security of Payment Ordinance (Cap. 652) and held successfully on 20 October 2025.

Mr Terence WONG shared with the participants the professional knowledge and experience including the practical questions regarding the recently enacted Construction Industry Security of Payment Ordinance Cap. 652 (“SOPO”), which came into effect as from Thursday 28 August 2025, the seminar will begin with a concise introduction to the key objectives and framework of SOPO. The core emphasis will be on addressing practical questions that arise in real-world application, Attendees will gain insight into how the new SOPO will affect contractual relationships, risk allocation, and cash flow management, and will benefit from discussions of common challenges and best practices, enabling industry stakeholders to better navigate the new legislative landscape with confidence, followed by a Q&A session.

The CPD was highly informative and meaningful with exchange and interaction among the speakers and the participants.
