The Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) Committee of the Hong Kong Institute of Construction Managers (HKICM) successfully organized a webinar titled “AI-Powered Drones: Revolutionizing Construction Site Safety and Progress Monitoring” on 15 Sep 2026 by Mr. Andy Hsu, Vice President of ViAct.
The presentation showcased a range of practical applications, including real-time detection of PPE non-compliance, unsafe lifting operations, housekeeping issues, fire and smoke risks, and other site hazards. Participants also learned how AI-generated alerts and automated reporting can support proactive risk management and improve overall site performance. Furthermore, the seminar highlighted the use of digital mapping, risk scoring, and progress tracking tools to enhance project visibility and facilitate informed decision-making.
The webinar concluded with an engaging Q&A session, where participants exchanged views on the opportunities and challenges associated with adopting AI and drone technologies in the construction industry. The event provided a valuable platform for knowledge sharing and reinforced HKICM’s commitment to promoting innovation, digital transformation, and a stronger safety culture within the built environment sector.
