I am delighted to reinforce a connection with the Chartered Association of Building Engineers Hong Kong Chapter, CABE (HK), by renewing the Memorandum of Understanding on 31 October 2022. I look forward to a closer alliance with CABE (HK) in pursuance of the new normal for built environment professionals.
Safety is a major concern in the construction industry. The Hong Kong Institute of Construction Managers (HKICM) and Hong Kong Construction Association (HKCA) Safety Quiz was organized as one of the commemorating initiatives in 2022. It aims to enhance and entrench safety culture into the construction management ecosystem. Preliminaries will be hosted online on 10 December 2022, while the Semi-finals and Finals will be conducted in person on 14 January 2023, in time to celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year.
In membership growth, our total number of memberships reached 3,343 at the end of November 2022, a new corporate member growth of 63 from last year. Out of the total membership, 1,227 were Corporate Members which include 109 Fellows and 1,118 Members. In addition, there were 14 Honorary Fellows, 93 Associates, 112 Construction Supervisors, 35 Graduates and 1,862 Student Members.
Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to our Office Bearers, members of the General Council, Boards and Committees for their concerted efforts and support. We could not have risen to the unprecedented challenges again without the tireless input of the management team and our colleagues of the Secretariat, who had pursued excellence and performed extraordinarily well during a time of great adversity. Through dedication and versatility, I am confident that the incoming Council, together with all members will continue to thrive in the new chapter of our Institute.
I wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
Best wishes,
Cr Fung Kwok-Keung, Conrad
