HKICM – HKIA Joint Site Visit to the Proposed Redevelopment of The Mariners’ Club

HKICM – HKIA Joint Site Visit to the Proposed Redevelopment of The Mariners’ Club, at 11 Middle Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong was successfully held on 17 September 2022. The site visit was organised by HKICM YMC and HKIA with supported by the developer, Empire Group, the project Architect, P&T and the main contractor, CR Construction Co Ltd.

HKICM YMC Chairman Cr Math CHAN, HKICM YMC Secretary Cr C Y WONG HKICM YMC Committees Cr Eric Cheung and HKICM student members joined the visit. Moreover, HKIA committee members and over 20 HKIA members participated in the site visit.

From this site visit, the participants could contain a broader, deeper and more multi-faceted understanding of the main contract works for proposed redevelopment of The Mariners’ Club that involving construction of G/F, 1/F to 2M/F of podium, 31 levels of guestroom floors, 6 levels of facilities and staff offices floors, 1 level of sky garden, 2 levels of refuge floors, roof & top roof & associated external & landscaping works. The construction floor area is approximately 45,900 m².

The project Architect and main contractor contained an excellent and comprehensive presentation on the development, design and construction for the project. Besides, they conducted a valuable sharing about the challenges for the congested site logistic, construction of complex ELS system in related to the construction of parent RC structures and construction of transfer plate in different levels.

The site visit was highly informative and meaningful with lots of exchanges and interactions between the presenters and attendees. Thanks again to the efforts of Empire Group, P&T Architects and Engineers Limited and CR Construction Company Limited for the excellent site visit.
