We were delighted to learn that our Honorary President Cr Thomas HO On-sing, JP has been appointed as the Chairman of the Construction Industry Council (CIC).
Cr HO possesses over 40 years of experience in construction industry. He has been dedicated to spearheading project management and general management, safety initiatives, sustainable development and innovation excellence in the construction industry. He is highly active in community services and professional associations’ activities in promoting excellence in construction management, as well as sustainable and quality construction. In recognition of his advanced mindset in advocating innovative and green construction initiatives, Cr HO received the Outstanding Achievement Award from Hong Kong Institute of Construction Managers in 2018.
The CIC is a statutory body established in February 2007 with the mission to forge consensus on long-term strategic issues concerning the construction industry, convey the needs and aspirations of the industry to the Government, and provide a channel for the Government to solicit advice on all construction-related matters.
As a professional institute, we will continue to discharge our missions to uphold standards and promote professionalism of construction management practices. We would complement and collaborate with CIC to launch various training and care schemes for industry practitioners. We look forward to continuous and positive interaction with the CIC for benefit of the construction industry of Hong Kong.
