HKICM – HKIA Joint Visit to Main Contract Works for Proposed Primary School and Kindergarten Development

Hong Kong Institute of Construction Managers (HKICM) invited The Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA) and HKCA Young Members Society (HKCA YMS) to a site visit of CR Construction Company Limited construction site of a Proposed Primary School and Kindergarten Development in Au Tau, Yuen Long.  

The Project Manager/HKICM YMC Secretary –  Cr C Y WONG introduced site constraints and how they affect the implementation of site works. One of the constraints is the confinement of operation radius for tower crane due to nearby overhead power line and elevated railway, It subsequently affected the logistic on site. Measures to mitigate such constraints to prevent delay of the project are also discussed. 

Meanwhile, HKICM YMC Chairman – Cr Math CHAN and HKICM YMC Secretary  – Cr C Y WONG also demonstrated the role of the Main Contractor to young members with detailed examples. Colleagues also shared their personal working experiences with the young members and provided useful insight to young members for career planning.

Representative from HKICM include our Honorary Treasurer – Cr Ricky LI, YMC Chairman – Cr Math CHAN, YMC Secretary  – Cr C Y WONG, YMC Member – Cr Kelwin SHEK and Public Relation & Liaison Committee Member – Cr Alvin Man.
