5 September 2025

We are thrilled to announce the forthcoming release of the following new Standard Form of Building Contract:

  1. Agreement & Schedule of Conditions of Building Contract for use in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (Private Edition):
Option 1 – With Quantities, and Option 2 – Without Quantities (2025 Edition),
  2. Agreement & Schedule of Conditions of Nominated Sub-Contract for use in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (2025 Edition),
  3. Agreement & Schedule of Conditions of Nominated Supply Contract for use in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (2025 Edition),

The Institute, together with the Hong Kong Institute of Architects, and the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors, has developed the Standard Form of Building Contract since 2005. These are widely adopted by the private sector ever since. The new contract considers the requirements of the recently enacted ordinance Construction Industry Security of Payment Ordinance (comes into force on 28 Aug 2025), as well as valued response from a series of consultations with industry stakeholders and the recommendations of the dedicated experts of the three Institutes.

While the new standard form is set for launch, please note that it may still be subject to minor adjustments. We are now releasing the draft E-copy via the following web link. And hard copies will be available for purchase shortly after the official launch.
