Joint CPD Webinar (HKIA, HKICM, HKIE Building Division and HKIS QSD) – “Introduction to the Competition Ordinance” (19 June 2024)

This CPD webinar was delivered by Mr. David Fong and Ms. Vicki Kwok, who are the Manager (Investigations) and Manager (Public Affairs) of the Hong Kong Competition Commission respectively, and about 1,000 members from the four institutions attended the Webinar.

Before the CPD webinar, Cr Alfred Tang (Vice-President of HKICM), Ir Tony Za (Chairman of HKIE Building Division), Sr Tim Ngai (Chairman of HKIS QSD) and Cr Betty Lo (Chairperson of HKICM CPD Committee) presented certificates of appreciation to David and Vicki. Ar. Albert Chan (Council Member of HKIA cum Chairman of Board of Practices) joined the webinar together.

In this webinar, David and Vicki shared with the attendees the key elements of the Ordinance, dos and don’ts under the Ordinance, red flags of anti-competitive practices, Leniency and Cooperation Policies as well as some competition law cases in Hong Kong. Through the in-depth discussions, insightful case studies, and engaging Q&A session, this event significantly enhanced the attendees’ understanding and knowledge of the Competition Ordinance and its practical applications. The interactive format enabled the participants to actively engage with the subject matter and gain valuable insights that they can apply in their professional practice.”
