HKIBIM x HKICM – Site Visit to the Development of the Loop, 28 February 2026

28 February 2026

Advancements in Reality Capture and BIM Integration

A site visit to the Development of the Loop was held on 28 February 2026, jointly organised by HKIBIM and HKICM.

The visit showcased the measurable value derived from integrating reality capture with structured model data. By combining laser scanning technology with the BIM model, the project team can verify method statements, ensuring constructability and mitigatingphysical risks before execution.

Drones are actively deployed on-site to capture dynamic conditions, providing reliable, up-to-date information for continuous analysis and progress tracking.

These exemplary practices illustrate that effective governance of digital tools can lead to significant improvements in safety, risk mitigation, and operational efficiency.

This CPD was highly informative and meaningful with exchanges and interactions among the speaker and the participants.

Special thanks to Cr Betty LO (Chairperson of HKICM CPD Committee), Cr Alvin MAN (Chairman of HKICM PR & Liaison Committee, Deputy Chairman of HKICM CPD Committee), and Cr Mandy CHAN (Deputy Chairperson of HKICM Young Members Committee) for their great efforts in organising and joining this CPD event.

Finally, certificates of appreciation was presented to the Project Team for the excellent presentation and sharing.
