Empowering Construction Managers with Adjudication under Hong Kong’s Security of Payment Ordinance (SOPO)

Organised by HKICM, the CPD Talk “Empowering Construction Managers with Adjudication under Hong Kong’s Security of Payment Ordinance (SOPO)” was successfully held on 15 June 2026.

Mr. Nick CHAN Hiu Fung, BBS, MH, JP (Director of the AALCO Hong Kong Regional Arbitration Centre, Member of the Legislative Council of the HKSAR), and Mr. CAI Weiping, Dennis (Deputy Director of the AALCO Hong Kong Regional Arbitration Centre) shared their extensive expertise on the critical role of adjudication in ensuring timely payment, demystify the statutory process, and examine how the AALCO-HKRAC Adjudication Rules and Nominating Body services offer a robust, impartial, and efficient mechanism for resolving payment disputes. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A.

The CPD was highly informative and meaningful with exchanges and interactions among the speakers and the participants.

Special thanks to Cr Alfred TANG (President of HKICM), Cr Betty LO (Chairperson of HKICM CPD Committee), and Cr Alvin MAN (Chairman of HKICM PR & Liaison Committee) for their great efforts in organising and joining this CPD event.
