20 June 2022

We were delighted to learn that our Honorary Fellow Mr LAM Sai-hung has been appointed by the Central People’s Government as Secretary for Transport and Logistics of the sixth-term Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. We are pleased to learn about the smooth formation of the new governing team and look forward to continuous and positive interaction between the Government and the Institute for benefit of the construction industry of Hong Kong.

Hon Fellow Mr Lam was Permanent Secretary for Development (Works) prior to his retirement in 2021. He joined the Government as Assistant Engineer in 1986. He was promoted to Chief Engineer in 2009 and to Principal Government Engineer in 2014. He was appointed as Project Manager of the Hong Kong Island and Islands Development Office in the Civil Engineering and Development Department in 2015, as Director of Civil Engineering and Development in 2016. We believe that Hon Fellow Mr Lam will continue to serve the people of Hong Kong diligently from a different position.

As a professional institute, we will continue to discharge our missions to uphold standards and promote professional construction management practices. We would complement the rules and governance of the Government and will act in concert to resolve the pressing issues for the best interest and a brighter future of Hong Kong.
