This course is designed to provide general awareness of DfS in the Hong Kong construction industry. It will focus on the importance and benefits of why DfS should be applied and utilised across all projects.
The course objectives are as follow:
- Be able to recognise the purpose and benefits of the Design for Safety Management system and requirements withcollaborative working to help identify and manage risks early.
- Understand how important it is to design and specify the right components, materials and products and ensure a design change control process followed will help assist cost certainty.
- Realise by providing the right information to the right people through the project lifecycle stages will help prevent accidents and incidents that would delay the project and increase unnecessary costs.
- Understand what key areas that Clients, Designers, Contractors and Maintenance Supervisor including the party taking up the functional role of coordinating DfS should carry out and provide to ensure workers work safely.

Admission Requirement
General education with relevant construction working experience and ability to understand, listen, read and write Chinese and English (most preferably for operational level personnel)
