Courtesy visit to Architectural Services Department

HKICM President, Cr Tony ZA with core Office Bearers and PR & Liaison Committee representatives paid a courtesy visit to Architectural Services Department (ArchSD) on 9^th August.

Greeted by Director HO Wing-yin, Winnie, JP, Deputy Director TSE Cheong-wo, Edward, JP, and Assistant Director TSE Kam-leung, JP, President ZA presented an update on the Institute with highlights on the growing recognition of the Registered Construction Manager professional qualification.  Director Winnie HO gave an impressive overview of ArchSD, a focal point of diversity and innovation in carrying out community building and works projects. Constructive exchanges were made between the two organisations.

A number of collaborations have been initiated including interdisciplinary seminars and forums to share insights and perspectives from construction managers, architects, and engineers on the built ecosystem. It’s expected that close collaboration and working relationship between HKICM and ArchSD will be continued to tackle future challenges in the industry.

香港建造商會第七十一屆理事會就職典禮

香港建總商會舉行了第71屆理事會就職典禮，典禮由行政長官主禮，本會榮譽會長林建榮營造師獲選為第71屆會長，本會副會長馮國強營造師則獲選為商會副會長，榮譽會長鍾冠文營造師和本會上任會長岑厚德營造師連同一衆本會會員也當選今屆商會的理事，本會會長謝偉正營造師連同榮譽會長鄧智宏營造師，副會長孟家榮營造師前來恭賀，並祝願新一屆的理事會合作愉快，建造商會會務長隆。

2021 青年魯班選舉 頒奬典禮

香港營造師學會會長 謝偉正營造師、榮譽會長及香港魯班廣悅堂主席 長鍾冠文營造師、榮譽會長及香港建造商會會長 林健榮營造師、榮譽會長及香港魯班廣悅堂高級副主席 鄧智宏營造師、副會長 孟家榮營造師、義務司庫 李國煥營造師、青年組委員會主席 陳偉林營造師，於農曆六月十三日魯班先師寶誕，出席慶賀魯班先師寶誕，同時出席「2021 青年魯班選舉」頒奬典禮，頒發獎項予今屆 青年魯班選舉「工程管理」組别 及「技術工藝」組別 得獎者。 香港營運師學會亦為今屆比賽協辦機構之一。

學會衷心祝賀得獎嘅從業員，繼續努力不懈！ 亦期望其他從業員都以佢地作為典範，使建造業嘅人力質素不斷提高，行業持續發展。

2021 香港建造青年高峰會 暨 建造業傑出青年頒獎禮

香港營造師學會會長 謝偉正營造師，連同青年組委員會主席 陳偉林營造師，於6月26日出席 建造業議會舉辦之「 香港建造·青年高峰會」暨「2021建造業傑出青年頒獎禮」。 今屆建造業傑出青年選舉有過百名參賽者競爭，經過三輪篩選，選出五位業界傑出青年，各位得獎者實至名歸！

DevB Project Cost Management Forum 2021

Presidents: Cr Tony Za & S,H&E Committee Chairman: Cr Eddie Yeung, attended the「Project Cost Management Forum 2021 – Cultivating Cost-Consciousness」on 23/6, organised by the Development Bureau and their Project Strategy and Governance Office.  Mr Paul Chan, Financial Secretary of HKSAR, delivered the Opening Speech, with ir Lam Sai-hung, Permanent Secretary for Development (Works) made the Keynote Presentation.  Facilitated by Mr Francis Au of Arcadis HK Ltd., personage speakers presented on topics of “Budget Optimisation” & “Expenditure Control”, which gives Developers; Consultants & Main Contractors an insight on cost effectiveness; value & risk management for mega projects.

存承工藝、培育菁英 – 香港魯班廣悅堂 青年魯班選舉2021

香港營造師學會 (HKICM)、香港建造業總工會 及 職業訓練局 (VTC) 共同協辦 香港魯班廣悅堂舉辦之「青年魯班選舉2021」，並由 香港營造師學會會長 謝偉正營造師、榮譽會長鍾冠文營造師、前任會長 鄧智宏營造師、副會長 孟家榮營造師，義務司庫 李國煥營造師 、委員 陳偉林營造師 協助統籌 。學會委員 羅志揚營造師/郭浩泉營造師/黃明輝營造師 及 增補委員 李沛然營造師，並於6月11日及6月13日之工程管理組別及建築工藝組別擔任評審，表揚建造業內具傑出表現及上進心的青年，發掘“未來魯班”。

IVE少年魯班 – 建造未來論壇

香港營造師學會會長 謝偉正營造師、榮譽會長 鍾冠文營造師 於6月11日出席 香港專業教育學院 (IVE) – 摩理臣山學院 建造工程系 舉辦之「少年魯班 – 建造未來論壇」，擔任講者。 席間，向聽眾重溫 魯班先師 十大發明，如何改變建造界、現今應用於建造業之新科技、及未來憧憬。 同時，鼓勵年輕聽眾踴躍參加「少年魯班 – 未來篇」比賽，發表如何改變未來建造界之願景。

Quality Building Awards (QBA) 2020 Presentation Ceremony

HKICM President: Cr Tony ZA; Hon Presidents: Prof Cr Peter MOK / Cr Eddie LAM / Cr Paul CHUNG; Cr Chi-wang TANG; Immediate Past President (IPP): Cr Daniel SHUM, together with Vice Presidents: Cr Conrad FUNG / Cr Terence MANG / Dr Cr Billy LEE; Hon Secretary: Cr Simon LEUNG & Hon Treasurer: Cr Ricky LI, attended QBA2020 Awards Presentation Ceremony on 2nd June 2021. With due respect, Hon President: Prof Cr Peter MOK & Cr Paul CHUNG were the Chairman & Vice-Chairman of QBA2020, and IPP Cr Daniel SHUM as Jury.

It is honored to have Chief Executive of HKSAR: Ms Carrie LAM GBM GBS, as Guest of Honour (GoH); and Secretary for Development: Mr. Michael WONG JP as Hon Patron for the event.  Notwithstanding the pandemic and the Social Distancing Order by the HKSAR, the Ceremony was conducted smoothly with full success.  Prof Cr Peter MOK concluded the Ceremony, and handed-over to HKICM (represented by Cr Chi-wang TANG) as Chairing Organization for QBA2022.

Ceremony for Completion of Development Projects of HKIC’s Campuses

On 31 May 2021, Past President Cr CW Tang and Cr Eddie Lam together with VP Cr Terence Mang jointly attended the Ceremony for Completion of Development Projects of HKIC’s Campuses. The ceremony marks an end of the series of addition and alteration works to three existing campuses.

Meeting with Miss Alice CHOI, JP, District Officer (Kowloon City District Office, Home Affairs Department, HKSAR Government)

HKICM President Cr Tony ZA, Immediate Past President Cr Daniel SHUM, Past President Cr TANG Chi Wang, Vice President Cr Terence MANG, and Secretary General Ernest LEUNG made a courtesy visit to Miss Alice CHOI, JP, District Officer (Kowloon City) on 28^th May 2021.

Miss Choi gave an impressive overview of Kowloon City, a place of diversity, and the Kowloon City District Office’s efforts in carrying out community building and minor works projects. Cr Tony ZA extended HKICM’s intent on closer collaboration and working relationship in return. Looking ahead, the redevelopment of the Kai Tak site and the construction of the Shatin-Central Link would lead to yet another regeneration of this district which both parties conceded will have ample opportunities for members of HKICM to contribute to the works of the Council.

The delegates also expressed their gratitude to Miss Choi on presenting the “Chronicle on Kowloon City”, published to commemorate the historic heritage and development of Kowloon City over the years.
