Experiences Sharing on Fire Services Installation and FS / OP Inspection

Brief details of the talk

Hong Kong is an international city with many modern high-rise buildings.  Various codes and legislations have been implemented to upkeep the safety standard of buildings, so that a safe and tenable space can be maintained in case of fire for firefighting and evacuation.  It is important to understand the design of these fire services installations and their roles played in the FS / OP inspection.

The seminar will share from the designer point of view (Building Services Engineers) about the design considerations of common fire services installation in Hong Kong, the point to note in the newly released FS CoP, and the Dos and Don’t in the FS / OP inspection.  Lesson learnt in the proper planning of commissioning of major building services installation will also be shared with examples from recent projects.

  • Vicki is the MEP Manager of New Management Company Limited.  She has over 15 years of experience in the design and commissioning of fire services installations for new building and A&A projects in Hong Kong.  She has delivered talks in the Joint Comprehensive Certificate Course on Fire Services System organized by BSOMES/CIBSE/ARFSIC/HKIE/IFE.

 

Ir Chris Ng, MHKIE, RPE, MCIBSE, CEng

  • Chris is the Senior Associate of J. Roger Preston Ltd.  He has over 17 years of experience in the design and commissioning of Mechanical, Ventilation and Air-conditioning system and smoke control system, such as the staircase pressurization system, smoke extraction system in deep basement and public transport terminus in Hong Kong.

 

KC Leung

  • KC is design consultant in J. Roger Preston Ltd. and has been working in the Power Supply Company and Contractor firms.  He has over 30 years of extensive experience in the design, construction and commissioning of electrical system for Grade A office, i-banks, Hotel and commercial projects.

Mr Joseph Chung

Joseph Chung is a Solicitor Advocate. He is also a registered foreign lawyer of the
