Brief content of the talk:

  1. Hong Kong Government is promoting carbon neutrality at 2050, the building/construction is participating more than 38% in carbon emission according to statistics.
  2. Energy efficiency building will be the key to reduce carbon emission to help meeting the carbon neutrality.
  3. With the use of technology, breakthrough in carbon accounting and auditing will be crucial to meet the carbon reduction roadmap.

Stephen Hung

Being the Business Development Manager in SGS specially in Green Finance Services. Stephen has been working in various industrial sectors related to energy saving and environment before joining the financial sector. Stephen helps organizing the M&A and bond distributions during his service in some securities firms before joining SGS. Stephen holds a Master Degree in Engineer Business Management from University of Warwick and being the license holder under SFC regulatory.

Conan Lee

Carbon Audit, Verification, and certification

Conan Lee has a strong background in applying carbon quantification and verification protocol. Since joining SGS in 2010, Conan has been involved in many of the company’s carbon related projects. Over the past 10 years, Conan has successfully helped various organizations to establish their carbon inventory, as well as for their products and events. He has been actively engaged in numerous carbon audit or verification projects according to different local or internal verification schemes. In the recent years, he also serves as tutor for sharing recent development on carbon quantification and reporting requirement and promoting ways for achieving carbon reduction goals. Enhancing the public awareness on reducing carbon emission and sustainability is his major focus.

Denis Ho

Denis bases in Hong Kong to provide Supply Chain Assurance Services for customers in Asia Pacific region. He provides customizable audit, suppliers’ risk assessment and supplier monitoring through information technology to address market needs drawn from national supply chain act and industry standards.

Prior to joining SGS, Denis held tenures at the Hong Kong-listed companies over 13 years for the supply chain assurance focusing to aviation and lottery industries in the Greater China region.

Denis holds a Master degree of Business Administration from the University of Birmingham, U.K, MSc. of E-commerce and Internet Computing from the University of Hong Kong, IRCA, London and CCAA, Beijing registered ISO 27001 and 9001 auditors and German automobile supply chain standard called Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange (TISAX), auditor (processing).

Dr Daron Leung

Mr Joseph Chung

Joseph Chung is a Solicitor Advocate. He is also a registered foreign lawyer of the
Singapore International Commercial Court. He was previously a Barrister until he became a Solicitor in 2001. He is also a fellow member of the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors.

Joseph has extensive experience in all aspects of construction in both private and public sector work, advising developers, contractors, consultants and banks.

Over the years in his practice as a lawyer, he has been involved in many high profile construction projects, including the Hong Kong airport core project, the Express Rail Link and the Hong Kong-Macau-Zhuhui Bridge. He was involved in the Commission of Inquiry into Excess Lead found in Drinking Water in 2015/2016. He is recommended in the area of construction in the Asia Pacific Legal 500 (2014 – 2021 editions) and acknowledged as one of the leading lawyers in the area of construction in Chambers Asia Pacific (2014 – 2021 editions) and the exclusive winner of the “Construction” category in Hong Kong by the Client Choice Awards 2018 & 2021. He is also recognised as a Leading Construction & Infrastructure Litigation Lawyer (2020 – 2021) and a Leading Front End Construction, Infrastructure & Projects Lawyer (2020) by Doyle’s Guide Hong Kong.

Joseph is the co-author of the Hong Kong version of one of the leading UK construction text “Emden’s Construction Law in Hong Kong”.
