“Provision of Student Residence for HKU –
Practical Experience Sharing in MiC and Related Construction Aspects”


Our first HKICM online CPD seminar “Provision of Student Residence for HKU – Practical Experience Sharing in MiC and Related Construction Aspects" was held successfully on 14 April 2020.

Our speakers, Cr Eddie S. K. Yeung, Director & General Manager of Paul Y. Engineering Group, and Mr. Terence M. H. Hui, Deputy Director of Paul Y. Engineering Group shared their practical experiences in the following aspects:
 
  1. BD submission on pre-acceptance approval;
  2. MiC experience, including installation by Candle-Loc Connection System;
  3. Planning and co-ordination of MiC for HKU student residence project;
  4.





 
Application of advance technologies:
•   Project Management Information System (PMIS);
•   Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID);
•   Robotic Total Station;
•   3D laser scanning; and
•   Building Information Modelling (BIM) – Common Data Environment (CDE), 4D working experience, 5D
     BIM, photogrammetry, self-climbing formwork for lift shaft, and automatic plastering machine; and
  5. Introduction of Sai Kung temporary quarantine facilities MiC project and CIC-Expo.
 
Animated videos, 3D printing prototype and models were also demonstrated as a real MiC in the seminar followed by a very fruitful Q&A session.

Our Cr Betty Lo, HKICM CPD Committee Chairperson presented souvenirs to Cr Eddie Yeung and Mr Terence Hui as a token of appreciation.

Certified NEC ECC Professional ICES


Mr. Hui is an Architect, he joined Paul Y. Engineering Group since 2014. With his sound architectural practise background, he had successfully completed several fast-track & design and build projects under the Group.
